Australia and New Zealand are two countries which have been received immigration intensively in the world. Besides immigration to these two countries, the social, political and cultural demands of their existing national minorities are still active in shaping and maintaining the social life of the great society. Both issues are important for the development of the debates and practices of multiculturalism in Australia and New Zealand. With reference to these two facts, in the research it will be analyzed how the practices of multiculturalism is formed in the context of migration and immigration politics, and then the importance of national minorities in the multicultural practics will be discussed.

Avustralya ve Yeni Zelanda, dünyadaki en çok göç alan iki ülkedir. Bu iki ülkeye yönelik yaşanan göçün yanı sıra ülkede mevcut ulusal azınlıkların toplumsal, siyasal ve kültürel talepleri büyük toplumun şekillenişinde ve yine toplumsal yaşantının sürdürülmesinde etkindir. Her iki olgu, Avustralya ve Yeni Zelanda’da çokkültürlülük tartışmalarının ve çokkültürlülük pratiklerinin gelişimi açısından önemlidir. Bu makalede bu iki sosyal olgudan yol çıkılarak, göç ve göçmenlik politikaları bağlamında çokkültürlülük pratiklerinin nasıl oluştuğu incelenecek, bunun yanı sıra ulusal azınlıkların çokkültürlülük pratikleri içerisindeki önemi vurgulanacaktır.
