Abstract (2. Language): 
In these years, which are in the first half of the 21st century, raising people who are able to develop their own knowledge and skills have gained significance. This shows that learning is a process not only accomplished during the school life, but also through the whole life. In additon to being an important determinant of academic achievement, self-regulation skills are also crucial factors that contribute to individuals’ life-long learning processes. The purpose of this study is to present a theoretical viewponit about self-regulated learning, which has a considerable effect on individuals’ life-long learning. In this point of view, self-regulated learning definitions, models, theories that these models are based on, characteristcs of sef-regulated learners, teachers role in learning environment are considered, as well as the the focal points of the recent researches related to this topic have been detected and presented for the purpose of lighting the way for the new researches.

21. yüzyılın ilk yarısında bulunduğumuz bu yıllarda, kendi bilgi ve becerilerini sürekli geliştiren bireylerin yetiştirilmesi önem kazanmaktadır. Bu da, öğrenmenin sadece okul hayatı boyunca değil, tüm hayat boyu gerçekleşmesinin gerekliliğini gösterir. Öz-düzenleme becerileri, akademik başarının önemli bir belirleyicisi olmanın yanı sıra, bireylerin hayat boyu öğrenmelerine katkı sağlayan önemli etkenlerdendir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, bireylerin hayat boyu öğrenmeleri açısından son derece önemli olan öz-düzenlemeli öğrenme yaklaşımına ilişkin kuramsal bir bakış açısı sunmaktır. Bu çerçevede, öz-düzenlemeli öğrenme tanımları, modelleri, modellerin temel aldığı teoriler, öz-düzenlemeli öğrenme stratejilerine sahip öğrenenlerin özellikleri, öğrenenlerin bu özelliklere sahip olması için oluşturulması gereken öğrenme ortamlarında öğretmenin rolü ele alınmış; öz-düzenlemeli öğrenme ile ilgili son yıllarda yapılan çalışmaların odak noktaları belirlenerek yapılacak araştırmalara ışık tutulmaya çalışılmıştır.
