The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of a computer-assisted instructional material, tutorial design educational software, on students' academic achievement, misconceptions and attitudes with respect to "biological concepts related to genetic " topic. The study conducted in 2005-2006 academic year was carried out in two different classes taught by the same teacher, in which there were forty eight 9th grade students in central city of Bayburt. An experimental research design including the genetic concepts achievement test (GBT), the genetic concepts concept test (GKT) and biology attitude scale (BTÖ) was applied at the beginning and at the end of the research. After the treatment, general achievement in GBT increased in favour of experiment group (p < 0.05). This result showed that using tutorial design educational software in teaching biology was very effective for students' achievement. Concurrently, tutorial design educational software changed major misconceptions related to biologic terms in genetic topic. Also, a significant increase was observed about students' attitudes towards biology education in experiment group with respect to control group.
Abstract (Original Language): 
Bu çalışmanın amacı, bilgisayar destekli öğretim materyallerinden biri olan ders yazılımlarının genetikle ilgili kavramlar konusunda öğrencilerin başarısına, kavram yanılgılarına ve biyolojiye karşı tutumlarına etkisini araştırmaktır. Çalışma, 2005-2006 akademik yılında Bayburt ili merkezinde bulunan bir ortaöğretim okulunun iki ayrı dokuzuncu sınıfında toplam kırk sekiz öğrenci ile yürütülmüştür. Genetik Kavramlar Başarı Testi (GBT), Genetik Kavramlar Kavram Testi (GKT) ve Biyoloji Tutum Ölçeği'nin (BTÖ) araştırma öncesinde ve sonrasında uygulandığı deneysel araştırma yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Uygulama sonrasında GBT' deki genel başarı deney grubu lehine anlamlı bir farklılık göstermektedir (p < 0.05). Bu sonuç, ders yazılımı şeklinde tasarımlanan eğitsel yazılımların biyoloji eğitiminde öğrenci başarısı üzerine oldukça etkili olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır. Aynı zamanda ders yazılımı şeklinde tasarımlanan eğitsel yazılım genetikle ilgili terimler konusunda var olan temel kavram yanılgılarını da düzeltebilmiştir. Ayrıca, kontrol grubuna oranla deney grubunda öğrencilerin biyolojiye karşı tutumları bakımından olumlu yönde bir artış olduğu gözlenmiştir.
