The diaphragm cell method technique was used to determine the diffusion coefficients of selected binary systems (Cyclopentanol-Acetic acid, Cyclohexanol-Acetic acid and Methylcyclohexanol-Acetic acid). The technique was chosen because of simplicity and accuracy. The stirring rate was 60 rpm. The diaphragm cell was calibrated at 298.15 K by diffusing of 0.1 N KCl solution into distilled water. The experimental diaphragm cell constant (P) was found 0.09293 cm-2. The temperature of water bath was controlled by a contact thermometer with an accuracy of ± 0.1 °C. The obtained experimental diffusion coefficients for Cyclopentanol-Acetic acid, Cyclohexanol-Acetic acid and Methylcyclohexanol - Acetic acid binary systems were 2.40 x 10-5 cm2/s, 1.16 x 10-5 cm2/s, 3.97 x 10-5 cm2/s, respectively. Furthermore, diffusion coefficients have been estimated by the theoretical methods of Wilke - Chang and Scheibel equations and compared with the experimental results.

Seçilmiş ikili sıvı sistemlerinin (Siklopentanol-Asetik asit, Sikloheksanol-Asetik asit ve Metilsikloheksanol-Asetik asit) difüzyon katsayılarının tayininde diyafram hücresi tekniği kullanıldı. Bu teknik hassasiyeti ve kolaylığı sebebiyle seçildi. Karıştırma hızı 60 dev/dak. seçildi. Difüzyon hücresinin hücre sabiti (P); 0.1N KCl çözeltisinin saf su içine difüzyonu ile 298.15 K'de tespit edildi. Bu değer 0.09293 cm-2 bulundu. Su banyosunun sıcaklığı, hassasiyeti ± 0.1 °C olan bir kontakt termometre ile sabit tutuldu. Siklopentanol-Asetik asit, Sikloheksanol-Asetik asit ve Metilsikloheksanol-Asetik asit sistemlerine ait deneysel difüzyon katsayıları sırasıyla 2.40 x 10-5 cm2/s, 1.16 x 10-5 cm2/s, 3.97 x 10-5 cm2/s olarak bulundu. Ayrıca bulunan deneysel sonuçlar teorik metotlardan olan Wilke-Chang ve Scheibel eşitliklerinden hesaplanan sonuçlarla karşılaştırıldı.
