A fuzzy logic based digital relay has been designed in order to protect power system networks for reliable operation. A prototype model of the relay has been established and tested in a laboratory environment. The relay designed has multi-functional behavior so that it gives information not only existence the type of fault but also the type, location, and duration of the faults. Some additional functions can also be included in the relay structure. The performance of the relay for detecting faults, type of faults, and the location has been tested and results are given in this paper.

Karmaşık bir yapıya sahip olan elektrik güç sistemlerinin meydana gelen arızalara karşı korunabilmesi için bulanık mantık tabanlı sayısal koruma rölesinin tasarımı ve prototip laboratuar modeli üzerinde gerçekleştirilmesi bu çalışmada incelenmiştir. Laboratuar ortamında bir prototip oluşturulmuş ve sonuçlar elde edilmiştir. Tasarlanan bulanık mantık tabanlı sayısal koruma rölesi çok amaçlı yapıya sahip olup, korumanın yanısıra işletime yönelik karar mekanizması da oluşturulabilmektedir.
