Abstract (2. Language):
As a proactive, information-based policing approach, problem-oriented policing emphasizes the use of erime analysis techniques in the analysis of the underlying causes of the problems t hat poliçe deal with. In partic ular, analysis applications, such as erime reconstruction, profiling, IAFIS, VICAP, and CODIS can be powerful toolsfor criminal investigation. The SARA Model represents a problem-solving strategy of problem-oriented policing. it aims to address the underlying causes of the problems and create substantial solutions. Although the ultimate goal of the poliçe should be proactive policing, most of the time poliçe should praetice reactive policing applications, such as investigating crimes and finding criminals. Therefore, while poliçe are developing proactive strategies, they should take into account some of the analysis applications that are available, in order to inerease the response rate in terms of arresting criminals.
