İn this study, experimental hypothyroidism in rats was induced using 6-propyl-2-tiouracyl (PTU) and its effects on kidney, giomeruie and tubules structure were investigated at microscopic level. İn the experiments, 60 days old 12 female rats which weighted 200-250 gr were used. The rats were separeted into two groups. To one group, 10 mg/kg day PTU was introduced intraperitoneally tor 15 days. To other group vvhich was used as a control group %0.9 physiological sotution (PS) was injected intraperitoneally for 15 days.. İn the renal structure investigated by light and electron microscope, it was observed that internal and external medulla were similar to those of the control group. Moreover, some expansion in glomerül capillaries of codex, plumpness and expans'ıon in capsule cavity were observed. Particuiariy, basal folding in proximal tubule was found to be evident. Ükewise, increase in intercelluler spaces and formation of a vacuoiize view were found. İt was found that there was no any damage in giomeruie filtration barrier at thin structure level. İt was also found that there not no any difference in basal /amina vvhich was similar to the control group.

Bu çalışmada 6-propii-2-tiourasil (PTU) ile sıçanlarda deneysel hipotiroidizm oluşturularak böbrekteki etkileri, glomerül ve tübül yapılan mikroskopik düzeyde incelenmesi amaçlandı. Ağırlıkları ortalama 200-250 gr olan 60 günlük toplam 12 ergin dişi sıçanlar kullanıldı. Denekler 2 gruba ayrılarak bir gruba 15 gün süre ile 10 mg/kg gün propil tiourasil periton içine verildi. Kontrol olarak kullanılan diğer gruptaki deneklere serum fizyolojik enjekte edildi. Işık ve elektron mikroskopik olarak incelenen böbrek yapısında iç ve dış medullanın kontrol grubuna benzediği, kortekste bazı glomerül kapillerlerinde genişleme, dolgunluk, kapsül boşluğunda genişleme olduğu görüldü. Özellikle proksimal tübüllerde bazal katlantıların oldukça belirginleştiği, epitel hücreleri arasında açılmalar olduğu, vakuolize bir görünüm oluştuğu saptandı- İnce yapı düzeyinde glomerül filtrasyon bariyerinde herhangi bir bozulma veya bazal lamlnada değişiklik olmadığı, kontrol grubu ile benzerlik gösterdiği tespit edildi.
