Abstract (2. Language):
Echinococcus multilocularis is an uncommon and life-threatening zoonosis caused by cestodes that ıs rarely encoun-tered İn children. A 7-year-old giri had for week been suffering from fever, maculopapular rush and righfsided upper abdominal symptoms not related to food intake. Laboratory tests were unremarkable, except for an accelerated ery-throcyte sedimentation rate {16/40 mmj and transaminases (ALT 42 Ü/L, AST 40 Ü/L) and eosinophiiia (5%). Upper abdominal sonography revealed multipl cyst, about 2-3 cm in dıameter, in the right liver lobe. The anfıbody titre against echinococcus antigen was 1:320. Preoperative and postoperative treatment consisted of the administration of albendazole (20 mg/kg/daily twice a day) for tvvoyears. Albendazole was administered in 4-week cycles vvith inter-vals of 14 days. We repon this case because this disease is very rare in childhood, and oral albendasole is able to effec-f/Ve in the treatment.
Abstract (Original Language):
Ekinokok agiütinasyon testi i/320 fitrede pozitif bulundu. Operasyon öncesi ve sonrası Albendazol 20 mg/kg/gün iki dozda, 4 hafta ilaçlı 14 gün ilaçsız dönemler halinde 2 yıl devam edildi. Çocukluk çağında nadir görülmesi ve tedavisinde albendazolün etkili olabileceğini vurgulamak amacıyla sunuldu.
