Abstract (2. Language):
Uraemia is a syndrome of clinical and metabolic abnormalities that develop in parallel with deteriorating renal function. The neurological consequences of uraemia are similar in many ways to the central nervous system effects of other metabolic and toxic disorders. There are several recent case reports of acute movement disorders with bilateral basal ganglia involvement in diabetic uraemic patients. We studied MRI and DWI findings of a patient with diabetus mellitus and chronic renal failure who developed acute ensepholopathy. Patients with diabetes mellitus and chronic renal failure may be progress to acute ensepholopathy. After hemodialysis semptoms are regressed; MRI can be used succesfully at acute phase and after hemodialysis.
