Abstract (2. Language):
Especially after 70's, European Union members have got some
important demographic problems. In the Union, population growth
rates are too low, at the same time the marriages and the fertility rates
have been falling, so the population gets an older character.
Furthermore, the divorcing rates, the number of people that live alone
and the children that born outside of marriage increase every year, and
that threatens the social structure in the Union. But, Turkish population
has younger characteristics and more affirmative according to
demographic structure than European Union.

Avrupa Birliði ülkeleri, özellikle 70'Ii yýllardan sonra, demografik
açýdan önemli problemlerle karþý karþýyadýr. Bu doðrultuda, Birlik'te çok
düþük oranlarda nüfus artýþ hýzý yaþanmakta, evlilikler ve bununla
beraber doðum oranlarý düþmekte, bu da nüfusun giderek daha yaþlý bir
nitelik kazanmasýna neden olmaktadýr. Boþanmalarýn, tek baþma yaþama
biçimlerinin ve evlilik dýþý iliþkilerden doðan çocuk sayýsýnýn her geçen
yýl artmasý da sosyal yapýyý tehdit eden diðer önemli demografik
problemlerdir. Türkiye açýsýndan ise, nüfus genç bir nitelik taþýmakta ve
demografik açýdan Avrupa Birliði'ne göre daha olumlu bir tablo ortaya
çýkmaktadýr.
