Abstract (2. Language):
The subject of this article is to review Immanuel Wallerstein's intellectual
development through his studies. The reason for dwelling upon Wallerstein's intellectual
development in an article is the conviction thatit would allow the reader to recognize the
development of his interests and ideas which, to a great extent, determined the scope of
the 20th century Western sociology. In the article, his intellectual biography has been
reviewed starting from his bachelor years is assumed to be dividable into three periods
based on the development and evolution of his studies and interests.

Bu yazının konusu, çalışmalarından hareketle Immanuel Wallerstein’in entelektüel gelişimini ele almaktır. Bir yazı konusu olarak Wallerstein’in entelektüel gelişiminin üzerinde durulmasının gereği, entelektüel biyografisini temel alarak ilgilerinin ve 20. yüzyıl Batı sosyolojisine damgasını vuran düşüncelerinin gelişimini yakalamanın mümkün olacağına duyulan inançtır. Wallerstein’in lisans eğitimiyle başlattığımız akademik biyografisinin, çalışmaları ve ilgilerinin gelişimi ve değişimi temelinde birbirinden belirgin şekilde ayrılabilecek üç dönemde ele alınabileceği görüşü, yazının temel çerçevesini oluşturmaktadır.
