Ziya Gökalp'in Yaşam Öyküsü

The purpose of this paper is to call attention to Ziya Gokalp' s memoir briefly as we believe that sociologists' biographies can give clues about the period in which they lived undoubtly. By bearing this idea on mind throughout the text we tried to remind basic turning points in Ziya Gokalp' s life history. Ziya Gokalp lived in a crucial transition period of Turkish society when the Otoman Empire was falling and the new republic was emerging. That's why it is important to bring a light on Ziya Gokalp' s personal life story.
