In this short study, with the recalling of general thoughts on West society in Middle ages, the relation between the West identity and the development in middle ages as a time slice are commented on. With the critization of the general il~formation on middle ages, new findings are tried to put forward on the place of the West in middle ages in the unity of world history. From the point of view that some of the characteristics of the West nowadays are gained in the middle ages, characteristics of the west society's identity that are newly built in the middle ages are tried to put forward. In the world history's unity, it is discussed how to understand the middle ages of the West. In order to realize this a- the downfall of Rome, b- the formation of crusade mentality and with this mentality taken as base, the effort to form reconnection with the other societies are tried to put forward.
