Kartagener syndrome : a case report

Journal Name:

Publication Year:

Abstract (2. Language):
Kartagener's syndrome, the triad of situs inversus, paranasal sinusitis, and bronchiectasis, is a genetic disease inherited as an autosomal recessive trait. Kartagener syndrome was diagnosed at patient submitted to our clinic with the symptoms such as productive cough, purulent sputum and shortness of breath. Escherichia coli were isolated from sputum of our patient. In clinical settings, pulmonary infection due to E.coli in bronchiectatic patients is rare. Because of relative rarity of this disease that caused recurrent pneumonia for many years we approved to report this case.
Abstract (Original Language):
Kartagener sendromu; bronşektazi, situs inversus ve paranazal sinuzit triadını içeren otozomal resesif geçiş gösteren genetik bir hastalıktır. Kliniğimize öksürük, pürülan balgam, nefes darlığı, yakınmalarıyla başvuran bayan olguda klinik ve radyolojik olarak Kartagener sendromu tanısı konuldu. Hastadan alınan balgam örneğinden Escherichia coli üretildi. Bronşektazi olgularında Escherichia coli'nin neden olduğu pulmoner enfeksiyonlar kliniklerde nadiren görülmektedir. Yıllarca tekrarlayan pnömonilere neden olması, göreceli nadirliği nedeniyle olguyu sunmayı uygun gördük.
