Abstract (2. Language):
Primary localized amyloidosis of urethra is a rare disease. To date, only 56 cases have been reported in the literature. It can easily be misdiagnosed as carcinoma of the urethra because of similar symptoms and appearance. The present case is 29 years old male whose biopsy revealed urethral amyloidosis during investigations for a probable urethral carcinoma. Although rare, urethral amyloidosis should be included in the differential diagnosis of urethral massess which may prevent unneccessary radical surgical procedures.
