Abstract (2. Language):
The Effects Of High Zinc And Copper On The Kidney and Heart In this study, the effect of high levels of zinc and copper intakes on kidney and heart were searched. Seventy seven numbers Wistar Albino rats were used as material. Twelve numbers of these were separated as control animals while the others were used as experimental groups. In I. experimental group (13 rats) were supplemented with oral zinc (70 mg/kg), II. experimental group (13 rats) were supplemented with oral zinc (80 mg/kg), III. experimental group (13 rats) were supplemented with oral copper (10 mg/kg), IV experimental group (13 rats) were supplemented with oral copper (20 mg/kg), V. experimental group (13 rats) were supplemented with oral zinc (70 mg/kg) + copper (10 mg/kg) in drinking water for four weeks. Control group (12 rats) were drunk only drinking water. In conclusion, it seems that zinc accumulates especially in heart tissue but with high doses it also accumulates in kidneys as much as heart tissue. On the other hand, copper did not show any difference between heart and kidney tissues in terms of copper accumulation given together with or without zinc.
