KRONİK HEMODİYALİZ HASTALARINDA PARATHORMONUN SOL VENTRİKÜL HİPERTROFİSİ ÜZERİNE ETKİSİ

Abstract (2. Language):
Secondary hyperparathyroidism, high phosphate (PO4) and calciumphospltateproduct (CaxP04 is highly prevalent among patients with end stage renal disease (ESRD) and is associated with increased cardiac mortality risk in hemodialysis (HD) patients. To evaluate the response of intact parathyroid hormone (iPTH) on left ventricular hypertrophy in hemodialysis patients with secondary hyperparathroidism we perform echocardiography assessments of iPTHlevel high 20 and normal 20 chronic HDpatient. Left ventricular mass index (SVKI) and relative wall thickness (RDK) values are indicators of left ventricular hyperthrophy (SVH). These values also indicated left ventricular hiperthrophy in both of the two groups, however they were more significant in the group with high iPTH levels compared to the group with normal iPTH levels (p<0,001). This study has shown that high iPTH levels contribute to left ventricular hypertrophy. Consequently, we think that in HD patients keeping high iPTH levels in control have a key importance regarding SVH.
