Abstract (2. Language):
Nutritional status is an important factor that affects morbidity and mortality of hemodialysis patients. The optimal monitoring of protein-energy nutritional status requires the collective evaluation of multiple parameters (i.e., assessment of visceral protein, muscle mass or somatic protein). Body mass index was calculated and serum albumin, transferin and ferritin levels were measured in 40 hemodialysis patients. In our study, serum albumin levels were significantly decreased (in 95% lower than 4.0 g/dl). Protein malnutrition is highly prevalent in hemodialysis patients. Our data suggest that serum albumin concentrations increase during the second year of maintenance hemodialysis.

Çalışmamızda serum albumin düzeyleri anlamlı ölçüde düşük bulundu (%95 vakada 4.0 g/d I' nin altında). Hemodiyaliz hastalarında protein malnütrisyonu yüksek oranda görülmektedir. İlk bir yıla kıyasla ikinci yılındaki hemodiyaliz hastalarımızda serum albumin düzeylerinin yükseldiği ortaya konmuştur.
