Hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) is a clinical syndrome related with microangiopathic anemia, thrombocytopenia and progressive renal failure. Pregnancy and postpartum period predispose to hemolytic uremic syndrome. Moreover, postpartum hemorrhage can also precipitate this syndrome. In this case report, we discuss a case of HUS that occurred after a postpartum vaginal hemorrhage and the management of the patient with plasmapheresis.

Hemolitik üremik sendrom (HÜS), mikroanjiyopatik hemolitik anemi, progresif renal yetersizlik ve trombositopeni ile ilişkili bir klinik sendromdur. Gebelik ve postpartum süreç, sekonder hemolitik üremik sendrom için hazırlayıcı faktörlerdendir. Ayrıca postpartum dönemde gelişen hemorajilerin de hemolitik üremik sendroma neden olabileceği gösterilmiştir. Biz bu vaka sunumumuzda postpartum hemoraji sonrası gelişen bir hemolitik üremik sendrom vakası ve bu vakanın plazma-ferez tedavisine yanıtını tartıştık.
