A QUALITATIVE RESEARCH ON EMPLOYMENT CONCERNS OF 1ST AND 4TH GRADE STUDENTS OF TURKISH LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE AT HACETTEPE UNIVERSITY

Abstract (2. Language):
A graduate of Faculty of Arts and Sciences who wants to become a teacher of Turkish Language and Literature at the secondary school and accredited community collages of the Ministry of Education must take teaching certificate offered by Faculty of Education or Institutes. For this reason many of the graduates of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences have dilemma about whether they will take this certificate or not during all the way through their education period. The way that the certificate programme offered changes regularly increases the student anxiety.
The purpose of this study is to determine the job causes of the anxiety evaluate whether it is restricted to a particular period of their education financial bases and Hacettepe University’s factor and evaluate the results on the bases Hacettepe University is students of Turkish Language and Literature Department. Toward this objective goal 15 first year students 15 final students in total 30 students are used as a research group and 19 questions based on students sex, ages, economic situations etc., personal informations, view of students of the department they study at and also the job anxiety are asked. Metaphoric assessments were used for evaluating students’ answers. The result of the study provided information about the first and final year students view abaout the relationships of the department job and economic anxieties, family backgrounds, education system and certificate programme are compared then similarities and differences determine.
Our goal is to identify the causes of our students and their thoughts on this subject and evaluate their professional concerns. As a result of this work we have our results are the following:
All of the students are happy to be in Hacettepe University. Be graduated from this university in the sense that they believe that professional advantage to them. According to the compulsory courses in the program is beneficial in terms of vocational students. However, uncertainty in educational science courses to take their concerns to reinforce the point. Students have the information that they will find a job in which sectors. But professional point of self-confidence can not be said that exactly. This case is common in first-year students, but also to be in the fourth grade students who have to complete the degree in this case is remarkable. Almost all of the students to look positively to the teaching profession and give priority to the profession. Academic career, media, archival other fields are requested.
All students complains about "Pedagogical Formation Certificate" from the missing definite information on how to be taken and the continuous change. The main cause of the professional concerns of the students said that this situation. After graduating students prefer to work in the public sector rather than the private sector. However, the exams are required for many of them work in the public sector concerned. The students think they have financial difficulties when they graduate. All the results indicate that the ideas and sensitivities of the first and fourth grade students are the same and have the same professional concerns.
This cases shows that it is composed of a professional from the first class in terms of sensitivity. The main difference between the first and last grade students in vocational choice. First-year students want to be a teacher, but fourth year students are aiming academic career.

Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı’na bağlı lise ve dengi okullarda Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı öğretmeni olarak istihdam edilmek isteyen her Fen-Edebiyat Fakültesi mezunu Eğitim Fakülteleri ve Enstitüleri tarafından verilen Pedagojik Formasyon sertifikasını almak zorundadır. Bu nedenle pek çok Fen Edebiyat Fakültesi mezunu bu sertifikayı alıp alamayacağı konusunda öğrenim hayatı boyunca endişe taşımaktadır. Sertifikanın veriliş şeklinin sürekli değişiklik göstermesi de öğrencilerdeki kaygıyı artırmaktadır.
Bu çalışmanın amacı Hacettepe Üniversitesi Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı bölümü öğrencileri özelinde, bu mesleki kaygıların hangi noktalarda yoğunlaştığını tespit etmek, kaygı eğilimlerinin dönemsel olup olmadığını irdelemek, maddi olanaklar ve Hacettepe Üniversitesine bağlı faktörleri incelemek ve bu sonuçları yorumlamaktır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda on beş birinci sınıf, on beş dördüncü sınıf öğrencisi olmak üzere toplam 30 öğrenciden oluşan bir çalışma grubu oluşturulmuş ve öğrencilere cinsiyet, yaş, maddi durum vb. kişisel bilgileri, Hacettepe Üniversitesi Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı bölümüne mesleki anlamda bakışları ve mesleki kaygılarının hangi noktalarda yoğunlaştığını irdeleme imkanı veren on dokuz soru sorulmuştur. Bu sorulara verilen yanıtlara betimsel çözümleme uygulanmıştır. Çözümlemenin sonucunda birinci ve dördüncü sınıf öğrencilerinin Hacettepe Üniversitesi Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı Bölümüne bakışları, okudukları bölüm ile mesleki gelişimleri arasında kurdukları bağ, maddi beklentilerin mesleki kaygılarındaki etkisi, ailesel faktörlerin rolü, eğitim sistemine ve sertifika programlarına bakışları karşılaştırılarak ortaklıklar ve farklılıklar belirlenmiştir.
