In this study, the proverbs, sayings and idioms seen at divan of Neshati, who is shown as one of the masters of gazel at his own period, are presented with the examples. The poet in his poems tried to reflect the expressions that can be part of daily speaking and folk literature with respect to the understanding of art of classical poems. It is believed that the language materials given provides information about thoughts, understanding of art and measure values of poets of the century of XVII with the help of the poems of Neshati.

Bu çalışmada, döneminin gazel ustaları arasında sayılan Neşâtî'nin şiirlerinde görülen atasözleri, veciz ifadeler ve deyimler örnekleriyle sunulmuştur. Şair, günlük konuşmadan ve halk dilinden alınma diyebileceğimiz, kültürümüzü taşıyan bu söz kalıplarını, içinde bulunduğu edebiyat anlayışının müsaade ettiği ölçüde, şiirlerinde yansıtmaya çalışmıştır. Ortaya koyduğumuz dil malzemesi, Neşâtî'nin şahsında, XVII. yüzyıl divan şairlerinin düşünce, sanat anlayışı ve değer ölçüleri hakkında bir fikir verebilecektir.
