Abstract (2. Language):
When we analyse the poems of the famous Turkoman poet Mahtumkulu Firaki, it will be seen that he was a sincere mysticist; he was an intelligent poet trying to solve his people's problems like Dede Korkut; he was a leader who took office to hold his nation's language flag, and that he was a real devotee who acted in Islamic reflexes and tried to illuminate his people against the actions those are not convenient for islamic spirit.
It is understood that he was very successfull in transferring the verses of Quran and the sayings of Hz. Mohammad and giving the quotations from those two sources in a poetical translation way. It can be considered that his mysticist identity -in the way of his drinking wine and getting drunk- was that he was effected by the belief and the traditions in his land and was for the expectations of Turkoman people with a strong oral tradition. His greatly using idioms and proverbs was based on his living among the people, wanting to express himself in the understanding level of them and deeply researching the senior persons of his nation who had lived among the people. In many of his poems, he told about the fleetness of life. According to him, hundred thousands of people were dying on the world and that much people were being born. There were people who didn't know what sadness or sorrow was as many as the dervishes and the poets suffering from pangs of love and spending their days in mortification. While many were living a good life, many were in a bad life and committing sins.
In some of his poems, he talked to the natural beings. In fact, he was implying human by using metaphors.
"Mountains mustn't be so arrogant for their hugeness and seas mustn't fall for their waves because they perish some day.The commitments that aren't paid in this world will be seen on the doomsday."
