Abstract (2. Language):
Reform actions, which had been going on for a couple of centuries in
Ottoman Empire, continued in 19. century, as well. Although these
reforms were initially limited to the military, they were internalized by
society over time. As a consequence of this process, people in Ottoman
society were able to have a kind of questioning ability the reflections of
which were also seen in divan literature. In that century, it was possible to
come across with some poems the contents and forms of which are, in a
way, new along with poems the contents and forms of which are
completely in harmony with those of divan literature products.
Kethüdâzâde Ârif, one of the widely known scholars of that century,
produced poems in line with the traditions of divan literature. In spite of
the fact that he mostly used the characteristics of divan literature, it was
not a flaw for him to employ a number of new forms and contents in some
of his poems. In this context, the objective of this study is to reveal the
content and forms characteristics of Kethüdâzâde Ârif’s poems.

Osmanlı Devleti tarihinde birkaç asırdır devam eden yenilik çalısmaları
19. asırla birlikte daha genis bir alana yayılarak devam etmistir.
Baslangıçta askerî alanla sınırlandırılmaya çalısılan bu yenilikler,
zamanla toplumun zihniyet dünyasına etki etme imkânı bulmustur. Bu
durum klasik olan her seyi sorgulamayı beraberinde getirmis ve divan
edebiyatı da bundan payını almıstır. O dönem divanlarında geleneğe
tamamıyla uyan siirlerin yanı sıra muhteva ve sekil özellikleri açısından
yeni sayılabilecek siirler de kendilerine yer bulmustur. Söz konusu asrın
tanınmıs bilginlerinden biri olan Kethüdâzâde Ârif, bu fikirlerle yetiserek
içinde bulunduğu ortama uygun siirler yazmıstır. Sair, geleneği devam
ettirmesine rağmen bazı siirlerinde onun klasik yapısının dısına çıkmayı
bir kusur olarak görmemistir. Çalısmamızda Kethüdâzâde Ârif Divanı bu
bakıs açısıyla ele alınarak içerisindeki siirlerin muhteva ve sekil
özellikleri üzerinde durulacaktır.
