Abstract (2. Language):
Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the blood lead, cadmium, chromium and total antioxidant capacity (TAC) of closed and open car park station workers. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study. In Diyarbakir city cen¬ter, venous bloods of 49 closed and 50 open car park station workers were collected and analyzed using atomic absorbsion spectrophotometry. Results: Mean blood lead level of closed car-park station workers (268,06 ug/lt) was not statistically different from open car park station workers (181,53 ug/lt). But for cadmium and chromium mean blood levels, there was statistically significant difference between two groups. Mean blood cadmium level was 59.20 ug/lt in closed car-park workers and 33.21 ug/lt in open car-park work¬ers. Chromium levels were 5.02 ug/lt and 3.69 ug/lt respectively. Mean TAC level was 1.60 in closed auto park workers and 1.50 in open car park workers. There was a statistically significant differ¬ence between the two groups. Conclusions: Both in closed and open car park workers mean blood lead, cadmium and chromium levels were found high. Health status of car park station workers should be followed up continuously.
Abstract (Original Language):
Amaç: Bu çalışma Diyarbakır kent merkezinde kapalı ve açık otopark çalışanlarının kan kurşun, kadmiyum, krom ve total antioksidan kapasitelerini değerlendirmektedir. Yöntem: Bu kesitsel araştırmada Diyarbakır kent merkezinde 49 kapalı otopark ve 50 açık otopark çalışanı toplam 99 kişiden ve-nöz kan alınmıştır. Bulgular: Otopark çalışanlarının kan değerleri şöyledir: Kandaki ortalama kurşun değeri; kapalı otoparkta 268,06 ug/lt, açık otoparkta 181,53 ug/lt'dir; iki grup arasındaki fark istatistik olarak an¬lamlı değildir. Kandaki ortalama kadmiyum değeri kapalı otopark¬ta 59.20 ug/lt, açık otoparkta 33.21 ug/lt'dir; gruplar arası fark is¬tatistiksel olarak önemlidir. Kandaki ortalama krom düzeyi kapalı otoparkta 5.02 ug/lt ve açık otoparkta 3.69 ug/lt'dir; iki grup ara¬sındaki fark istatistik olarak anlamlı değildir. Total antioksidan ka¬pasitesi (TAK) ortalaması kapalı otoparkta (1.60), açık otoparkta-kinden; (1.50) düşüktür; iki grup arasındaki fark istatistiksel olarak anlamlıdır. Sonuç: Gerek kapalı, gerekse açık otopark çalışanlarının kan kurşun, kadmiyum ve krom düzeyleri standart değerlerin üzerindedir. Otopark çalışanlarının sağlık durumları sürekli değerlendiril¬melidir.
