Abstract (2. Language): 
A prescription is a document that is prepared by medically qualified persons for the pharmacist and patient to implement the therapy according to the information and instructions written on it. Even though a prescription was traditionally written on paper in the past, nowadays it is mostly written electronically. Electronic (e) prescrip¬tions are the ones which are prepared entirely electronically by a spe¬cial software and communication networks of all related format information and routine procedures such as drug supply, reimburse¬ment, registration and follow-up. Turkey initiated this practice in pilot areas in 2012 and the Social Security Institution has made it mandatory for the reimbursed prescriptions except for some limited cases since January 15, 2013. It is predictable that e-prescription would provide substantial benefits to rational use of drugs, in case of suc¬cessful maintaining of e-prescription practice which can offer impor¬tant advantages to the physician, reimbursement authority, health center, pharmacist, patient and the other relevant individuals and institutions in many respects like speed, convenience, accuracy etc. as compared to hand-written prescriptions. It is mentioned in various platforms that related individuals need information about this prac¬tice that is yet considered new. Introduction of e-prescription prac¬tice details and its contributions to rational use of drugs were includ¬ed in this article.

Reçete, üzerinde yazılı bilgi ve talimatlar doğrultusunda tedavinin yapılabilmesi için eczacıya ve hastaya yönelik tıbben ehil kişilerce düzenlenmiş bir evraktır. Geçmişte daha çok elle kâğıda yazılması bir gelenek haline gelmiş olan reçete, günümüzde elektronik ortamda da yazılmaktadır. Elektronik (e) reçeteler, ilgili tüm format bilgilerinin ve rutin işlemlerinin (ilacın temini, geri-ödemesi, kaydı ve izlemi de dâhil) özel yazılımlar ve özel iletişim ağları sayesinde tümüyle elektronik ortamda yapıldığı reçetelerdir. Türkiye 2012 yı¬lında bu uygulamayı pilot bölgelerde başlatmış olup, 15 Ocak 2013 tarihinden bu yana istisnai haller dışında Sosyal Güvenlik Ku¬rumu geri ödemeli reçetelerde bu uygulamayı zorunlu hale getir¬miştir. Elle kâğıda yazılan reçeteye kıyasla hız, kolaylık, doğruluk vb. pek çok bakımdan hekime, geri ödeme kurumuna, sağlık mer¬kezine, eczacıya, hastaya ve diğer ilgili kişi ve kurumlara önemli avantajlar sunabilen e-reçete uygulamasının gereği gibi başarılı sürdürülmesi halinde, akılcı ilaç kullanımına da büyük yararları ola¬cağı öngörülebilir. Henüz yeni sayılabilecek bu uygulama hakkın¬da muhataplarının bilgi ihtiyacı içinde oldukları çeşitli platformlarda dile getirilmektedir. Bu yazıda e-reçetenin tanıtımına, uygulama ayrıntılarına ve akılcı ilaç kullanımına katkılarına yer verilmiştir.
