Abstract (2. Language):
The present study is a retrospective case-control study which was aimed and designed to investigate the relationship betwe¬en urinary bladder cancer and its etiologic factors and the de¬mographic properties of the patients in Turkey. A questionn¬aire asking demographic and etiologic properties was applied to 208 patient and 162 controls. The ratio of male to female was 6/1 and most of the patients were in the 6-7th decade of their lives. Most of the patients came from middle and low social classes. Many patients were born and still living in the Marmara Region. In 33.7 % of cases the blood group was 0 Rh(+). In the case group, exposure of the patients to high risk chemical materials, like dye, textile, metal and rubber were highly common (49.4 %). Among the patients, the rate of smoking was 82.7 %. Using of sweeteners was as high as 12.5 %. In the family histories of many cases, the number of can¬cer patients in the family was more than one.
