Abstract (2. Language):
Xanthogranulomatous pyelonephritis is an uncommon chronic type infection, typically occuring in an obstructed kidney. There is accumulation of lipid-laden macrophages and granulomatous infiltrate because of failure of local immunity. Because the findings on sonography and urography are non spesific, computed tomography is the diagnostic modality to be chosen to show the extension of the disease. We report two cases of xanthogranulomatous pyelonephritis.
