The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between adolescents’ motivation to class engagement and their subjective well-being as well as strategies that improve subjective well-being. The study group included a total of 233 high school students [112 female (48.1 %) and 121 male (51.9 %)] aged from 14-17. Motivation to Class Engagement Scale; Adolescent Subjective Well-being Scale; Subjective Well-being Increasing Strategies Scale, Satisfaction with Life Scale, and Positive and Negative Affect Scale were used as measurement instruments. Data analyzed with descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis. The following variables were significantly related to course engagement in the regression equations respectively: Positive response to environment strategy, getting positive response from the environment, and subjective well-being.

Bu çalışmada, ergenlerin derse katılmaya motive olmaları ile öznel iyi oluşları ve öznel iyi oluşu artırma stratejilerini kullanmaları arasındaki ilişkilerin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma grubu Ankara’nın Keçiören ilçesinde lise öğrenimine devam eden, 14–17 yaşları arasındaki toplam 233 [112 kız (48.1 %) ve 121 erkek (51.9 %)] lise öğrencisi ergenden oluşmaktadır. Verilerin toplanmasında Ergen Öznel İyi Oluş Ölçeği, Ergenler İçin Öznel İyi Oluşu Artırma Stratejileri Ölçeği, Yaşam Doyumu Ölçeği, Pozitif-Negatif Duygu Ölçeği ve Derse Katılmaya Motive Olma Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Veriler betimsel istatistikler ve çoklu regresyon analizi ile analiz edilmiştir. Regresyon analizinde sırasıyla şu değişkenler derse katılmaya motive olmayla anlamlı biçimde ilişkili bulunmuştur: Çevreye olumlu tepki verme stratejisi, öznel iyi oluş, çevreden olumlu tepki alma stratejisi
