Distance learning is briefly an economic and interactive training system which utilizes information technology as main means through education. People, who need retrain or left, not took part of formal education system, demand distance learning as an alternative education today. Globalization increases alternatives on education as economy and policy. Thus, distance learning emerges as the most attractive alternative in education system today. Distance learning was discussed through globalization in this descriptive study carried out by survey method.

Uzaktan Eğitim, kısaca zaman ve mekândan bağımsız, bilişim teknolojilerinden yararlanılarak gerçekleştirilen, ekonomik ve etkileşimli bir eğitim biçimidir. Modern toplumun gerektirdiği yenilenme ihtiyacı, eğitim sisteminden bir şekilde ayrılmış veya bu sisteme hiç girememiş olma, bireyleri uzaktan eğitim yolunu denemeye yöneltmiştir. Küreselleşme, ekonomi ve siyasette olduğu gibi, eğitimde de alternatifleri artırmıştır. Uzaktan eğitim de çeşitlenen alternatiflerden, belki de en cazip olanı olarak ortaya çıkmaktadır. Literatür taraması yöntemi ile yapılan bu betimsel çalışmada küreselleşme sürecinde uzaktan eğitim irdelenmektedir.
