One of the dffficutt aspects of complete denture prosthodontics is the selection of maxillary anterior teeth. Several anatomical landmarks are used currently, when selecting artfficial teeth for edentulous patients. The aim of this study was to investigate whether there is a relationship between two maxillary buccal frenulum and the total mesiodistal distance of six maxillary anterior teeth. 50 impressions were taken from the subjects by using stock trays and irreversible hydrocolloid impression material and casts were formed. The individuals were the age of between 19-22. The subjects were standardized in terms of dental status e.g. there was no tooth loss and no anterior restorations on the upper jaws. The total mesiodistal widths of six upper anterior teeth and then the distances between the most anterior border of two buccal frenula and the most distal of canines were measured with digital caiiper. The results were analyzed by using correlation and regression tests. According to the results of analyses there is a correlation between the buccal frenula and the anterior teeth statisticaly. However, maxi/aary buccal frenula should not be taken a reference points on its own to select the maxillary anterior teeth.

Tam protezlerle ilgili karşı/aşılan güçüüklerden brri maksiler anterior dişlerin seçimidir. Tam dişsiz hastalar için diş seçimi yapılırken, günümüzde çok sayıda anatomik yapı rehber oaarak kullanılmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı üst iki bukkal frenulumla üst attı anterior diş arasında brr ilişki olup olmadığını araştırmaktır. irreversible hidrokolloid ölçü maddesi ve fabrikasyon kaşıklar kullanılarak 50 adet ölçü aiınarak model hazrhandı. Ölçüsü alınan ve yaşları 19-22 arasında olan bireylerde üst çenede diş kaybı olmamasına ve herhangi brr restorasyon bulunmamasına dikkat edlldi. Modeller üzerinde üst altı dişin mesiodistal genişlikleri ve kaninlerin en distal noktaları lle bukkal frenulumların anterior sınırı arasındaki mesafe dijital kumpas kul/anılarak ölçüldü. Sonuçlar korelasyon ve regresyon istatistik testleri ile değerlendirildi. istatistiksel analiz sonuçlarına göre bukkal frenulumlarla anterior dişler arasında anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu görüldü. Bunun/a birlikte bukkal frenu/um/ar üst anterior diş/erin seçiminde tek başına rehber olarak kul/anılmamalıdır.
