AN EVALUATION OF DIMENSIONAL CHANGE OF DOUBLE -PROCESSING OF FOUR TYPE ACRYLIC RESINS

Poly (Methyl mcthacrylate) used as a denture base material exposes to dimensional change when polymcrized.For this reason,it is necessary that of giving importance to acrylic resin pohmcri/.alicm in prosthetic procedures. In this studyfthe impressions of stainless-steel cylinder specimens which 25 mm long and 8 mm in diameter were made by poiycther impression paste.With 10 specimens for each one from four type acrylic resins ,4U acrylic resin were pre pared. Firs t pohıneri/aLion procedure for each acrylic resin was completed according to the manufacturer's recommendadon.The measurements ot acrylic resin specimens were made by special comparator. Then, the specimens were cured again for 2 hours and second measurements were made in the same manner.Thc difference between first and second measurements were evaluated as shrinkage amount in acrylic resins.Statistically,wc found a significant difference between shrinkage amount of four type acrylic rcsins-

Turn prote z kaide plağı ularak kullanılan polimetilmetakrilatlar pdimerİ7.e olduklarında boyutsal değişime uğramaktadır.Bu nedenle protetik işlemlerde akriliğin polimerizasyon olayına önem verilmesi gerekmektedir. Bu araştırmada 25 mm boyunda,8 mm çapında çelikten silindir örneklerin ölçüleri alınarak, 4 farklı akriltkten .herbiri için 10'ar ianeden 40 adet akrilik silindir Örnek elde cdilmişnr.Ömeklerin ilk polimeri zasy onunda akrilikler imalatçı firmanın on gördüğü koşullarda pişirilmiş,öiçumleri özel şekilde hazırlanan bir komparatörle yapılmıştır. Daha snnra bu örnekler ikinci kez 2 saat süre ile tekrar kaynatılarak polimerize edilmiş ve ölçülmüştür.Her iki ölçüm arasında bulunan fark akriliklerde büzülme miktarı olarak değerlendirilmiştirİstatistikscl olarak 4 tip akrilik materyalin büzülme oranları arasında önemli farklılık tespit edilmiştir.
