Abstract (2. Language):
Optical measuring techniques such as holography, offer non-destructive possibilities for in vitro and in vivo measurements in dentistry. Conditions such as loading, temperature and moisture aren't obstacle, and functional tests can be carried out on realistic objects with complex shapes and various thicknesses as well as on test samples. This can be a great advantage in that it facilitates the laboratory testing of samples of real size and shape under the same conditions in both laboratory and clinical situations. The purpose of this article is to give a brief description of the technique and to provide a survey of what has previously been done in dental holography.
