Abstract (2. Language): 
The aim of this research is determining university students’s using level of thinking expanding forms in expository texts. This research is a descriptive study in survey model. The sampling group of research are 331 university students in first class who are Mustafa Kemal University Faculty of Education Department of Turkish Education, Department of Classroom Teacher, Department of Private Education, Department of Fine Arts Education and Department of Computer Teaching Education. Data gathering tool are expository compositions. The findings are presentinng frequency, percent and arithmetic average. According to the results university students are using the comparison 1,29 rate, the exemplification 0,93 rate, the definition 0,57 rate, numerical data 0,36 rate, testimony to a statement 0,35rate and analogy 0,25 rate.

Bu araştırmanın amacı üniversite öğrencilerinin bilgilendirici metinlerde düşünceyi geliştirme yollarını kullanma durumlarını belirlemektir. Araştırma genel tarama modelinde betimsel bir çalışmadır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Mustafa Kemal Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi Türkçe Öğretmenliği, Sınıf Öğretmenliği, Özel Eğitim Öğretmenliği, Resim – İş Öğretmenliği ve Bilgisayar Öğretmenliği bölümlerinin 1. sınıflarına devam eden toplam 331 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Veri toplama aracı olarak öğrencilere yazdırılan bilgilendirici metin türündeki kompozisyonlar kullanılmıştır. Bu kompozisyonlardan elde edilen bulgular yüzde, frekans ve aritmetik ortalama şeklinde verilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucuna göre öğrenciler düşünceyi geliştirme yollarından karşılaştırmayı her bir metinde 1,29, örneklemeyi 0,93, tanımlamayı 0,57, sayısal verileri 0,36, alıntı yapmayı 0,35, benzetmeyi 0,25 oranında kullanmışlardır.
