In this paper, it has been aimed to be develop a scale to measure 4

and 5
th.
grade students’ attitudes
toward science and technology. For this purpose, after reviewing the literature, the scale consisting of 20 Likert-type
items was created and presented to the experts to get their opinions. Then the scale was administered to 60 primary
school students as a pilot implementation to revisethe scale. With the results of the pilot implementation and expert
opinions, changes have been made on the scale. Revised scale was administered to randomly selected 144 primary
education 4
th
and 5
th
grade students in central Kutahya. The scale was then set down to 12 items at the end of the
implementation. Factor analysis was conducted to determine the construct validity of the scale. Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin(KMO) value that was referred to for structural validity was found to be 0.81 and Barlett’s test significance
value was established to be 0.00. It was found to have three factors explaining 60 % of the total variance of the scale.
The internal consistency coefficient (Cronbach’s alpha) value estimated for the reliability analysis ofthe scale was
observed to be α=0.83. These values show that the scale is a valid and reliable scale.

Bu makale de, ilköğretim 4. ve 5.sınıf öğrencilerinin Fen ve Teknoloji dersine yönelik tutumlarını belirlemek
amacıyla bir ölçme aracı geliştirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla literatür taramasından sonra, 20 maddeden oluşan
5’li likert tipi bir ölçek oluşturulmuşve uzmanların değerlendirilmesine sunulmuştur. Daha sonra ölçeğin
güncellenmesi için 60 kişilik ilköğretim öğrencisine pilot uygulama yapılmıştır. Pilot uygulamanın sonuçları ve
uzmanların önerisi ile ölçek üzerinde değişiklikler yapılmıştır. Değiştirilen ölçek Kütahya merkez Atatürk İlköğretim
Okulunda okuyan I. kademe öğrencileri arasında tesadüfî örnekleme yöntemiyle seçilen 144 öğrenciye uygulanmıştır.
Uygulama sonunda ölçek 12 maddeye indirilmiştir. Ölçeğin yapı geçerliliğini belirlemek amacıyla faktör analizi
yapılmıştır. Faktör analizi sonucunda, ölçeğin Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) değerinin 0.81, Barlett testi anlamlılık
değerinin ise 0.00 olduğu görülmüştür. Ölçeğin toplam varyansın % 60’ını açıklayan üç faktöre sahip olduğu
bulunmuştur. Ölçeğin güvenirlik katsayı (Cronbach alpha) değeri α=0.83 olarak elde edilmiştir. Bu değerler, ölçeğin
geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçek olduğunu göstermektedir
