Abstract (2. Language):

This study aims to identify misconceptions of the 5th grade students at primary schools regard to the sun, the earth and the moon concepts. The study group consists of 40 students attending in the 5th grade at a secondary school in Çorum in 2012-2013 academic year. In the research made with a case study method, the data was gathered with a test which consisting of 6 open-ended questions and students’ drawings. As a result of the analysis of the data, it has been found that students have some misconceptions. The most significant misconception that we identified in this study is the students’ misconceptions regarding the earth’s revolving around the sun and the moon’s around the earth. In the end of the study some recommendations are made to overcome misconceptions, such as solidifying teaching.

Bu çalışmada, ilköğretim 5. Sınıf öğrencilerinin Güneş, Dünya ve Ay kavramları hakkındaki kavram yanılgılarını tespit edilmesi amaçlanmaktadır. 2012–2013 eğitim-öğretim yılında Çorum ilindeki bir ortaokulda beşinci sınıfta öğrenim gören 40 öğrenci çalışma grubunu oluşturmaktadır Özel durum çalışması yöntemi ile yapılan araştırmada, çizimler ve açık uçlu sorulardan oluşturulan 6 soruluk bir test ile veriler toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizi sonucunda öğrencilerin bazı kavram yanılgıları olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Yaptığımız çalışmada tespit ettiğimiz en önemli kavram yanılgısı Dünya’nın Güneş çevresinde Ay’ın ise Dünya çevresinde dönme hareketi yaptığına dair öğrencilerde oluşan kavram yanılgısıdır. Çalışma sonucunda kavram yanılgılarının giderilmesi için somutlaştırarak öğretim yapılması gerektiği gibi önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
