Abstract (2. Language):
The purpose of the current study was to determine the misconceptions of candidate teachers over the
concepts identity, true, truth and contradiction. The study is a descriptive survey and it was carried
out with 250 third-year students attending to Gazi University, the Faculty of Education in Ankara in
the spring semester of 2013-2014 educational year. The Questionnaire Form for the Concepts of
Logic was used as a data collection instrument. The answers obtained in the questionnaire form were
classified according to the performance levels in the gratified scoring key within the framework of
the expert views. The classification was analysed in the package program of SPSS 17. Cronbach
Alpha coefficient was found as .80.The low level performance in the classification made with the
performance levels was the level where misconceptions were encountered. This level was regrouped
and the findings were formed by giving explanations under each table. In the light of these findings,
it was found that the misconception in the concept of identity was in the concepts of “Similarity”, “Equality” and “Equivalence”, the misconception of “True” was in the concept of “Truth”, the
misconception of “Truth” was in the concept of “Trueness” and the misconception of
“Contradiction” was in the concepts of “Contrast” and “Indecisiveness”.

Bu araştırmanın amacı, öğretmen adaylarının özdeşlik, doğru, gerçeklik ve çelişki kavramları
hakkındaki kavram yanılgılarını ortaya koymaktır. Araştırma tarama modelinde betimsel bir
çalışmadır. Araştırma, 2013-2014 bahar döneminde Ankara Gazi Eğitim Fakültesi 3. Sınıfta okuyan
250 öğrenci ile yapılmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak, araştırmacılar tarafından
geliştirilen Mantık Kavramlarına İlişkin Soru Formu kullanılmıştır. Soru formundan elde edilen
cevaplar uzman görüşleri çerçevesinde geliştirilen dereceli puanlama anahtarında ele alınan
performans düzeylerine göre sınıflandırılmıştır. Yapılan sınıflama SPSS 17 paket programında
değerlendirilmiştir. Cronbach Alpha katsayısı .80 olarak bulunmuştur. Performans düzeylerine göre
yapılan sınıflandırmada düşük performans düzeyi, kavram yanılgılarına rastlanılan düzeydir. Bu
düzey kendi arasında tekrar gruplandırılıp isimlendirilmiş ve her bir tablonun altında gerekli
açıklamalara yer verilerek bulgular oluşturulmuştur. Bu bulgular ışığında özdeşlik kavramındaki
kavram yanılgıları “Benzerlik”, “Eşitlik”, “Uyum” ve “Denklik” kavramlarında, “Doğru”
kavramındaki kavram yanılgısı “Gerçek” kavramında, “Gerçeklik” kavramındaki kavram yanılgısı
“Doğruluk” kavramında ve “Çelişki” kavramındaki kavram yanılgısının da “Zıtlık” ve “Karasızlık”
kavramlarında olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
