Abstract (2. Language):
Economic geography is a branch which answers the questions, why economic activities agglomerated and organized around certain areas. Another approach taking into account the spatial features of economics by using models of increasing returns and imperfect competition and emerges by the leading of Krugman is called new economic geography. The core-periphery model introduced by Krugman (1991) is a model which construct the explanatory framework of new economic geography. This framework explains how the interaction between the increasing returns of firms, transport costs and the mobility of factors causes and changes the spatial structure of economics. The aim of this study is to introduce the new economic geography approach which has been began by the economists interested of spatial economics in recent years.
