Abstract (2. Language):
Education is the basis of a society. The more this basis is, the stronger the socity is. In
Turkey, as in the other countries a lot of things have been done and are stil being done
in both education curriculum and providing tecnological equipments in order to make
the education more efficient. Especially as the arrangements in our elementary
education is the main level of all other education levels, it has a great importance.
Like in EC countries, education is also important in our country. We transfer our
culture and socialize people by the help of education. In this concern, our memebership
in EC in the following years has been planned. Though the main goal of the EC seems
economic, it has been orientated to the field of education. Social Science Lesson is
perhaps the most important of all lessons in which we teach our society’s
characteristics, traditions and especially the privilege of being a Turkish citizen.
EC, after economic unity, has been informing its member countries and its candidate
countries about European Citizenship and forming a background. Our country is
carrying the education to this dimension.The aim of this research is to see how the
goals of current social science lessons will change after the EC full membership.

Eğitim, toplumların temel taşlarının başında gelir.Bu temel ne kadar sağlam olursa
toplum da o kadar güçlü olur.Diğer ülkelerde olduğu gibi ülkemizde de eğitimin daha
etkili hale getirilmesi için gerek eğitim programlarında gerekse teknolojik donanım
sağlanmasıyolunda, birçok çalışmalar yapılmışve hala da yapılmaktadır. Özellikle
eğitimimizin ilköğretim kademesindeki düzenlemeler diğer eğitim kademelerine temel
oluşturduğundan dolayıbüyük önem taşımaktadır. AB ülkelerinde olduğu gibi
ülkemizde de eğitim çok önemlidir. Kültür aktarımımızıve toplumsallaştırmayıeğitim
yoluyla sağlarız. Bu bağlamda önümüzdeki yıllarda AB’ye girmemiz planlanmaktadır.
AB’nin kuruluşamacıher ne kadar ekonomik gözükse de son günlerdeki faaliyet
alanlarınıdevamınısürdürmek için eğitim alanına yöneltmiştir. Sosyal bilgiler dersi
bizim toplumumuzun özelliklerini, gelenek ve göreneklerini, kültürünü ve en önemlisi
Türk vatandaşıolmanın ayrıcalıklarınıve özelliklerini verdiğimiz derslerden birisidir.
AB ekonomik birlikten sonra üye ülkelerini ve aday ülkelerini Avrupa Vatandaşı
konusunda bilgilendirmekte ve yetiştirilmesi için alt yapıoluşturmaktadır. Ülkemiz de
eğitim sistemini bu boyuta taşımaktadır. Bu araştırmada amaç uygulamadaki sosyal
bilgiler dersinin genel amaçlarının AB üyeliği sonrasınasıl etkileneceğinin tespiti
yapılmaya çalışılmıştır.
