Abstract (2. Language):
The aim of this study was to determine the perceptions of cadet sport managers’ gender-stereotypes in some managerial skills (relationship-oriented, task-oriented and emotional-instability). Hundred thirty nine male undergraduate sport management students were participated in this study. Sixty nine (49.65%) of them were first grade students, and 70 (%50.35) of them were fourth grade students. Turkish version of Schein Descriptive Index was used to gather the data of this study (Sümer, 2006). Descriptive statistics and MANOVA were used to analyze the data. The results of the study showed that there were significant differences for relationship-orientation, taskorientation and emotional instability scores of the subjects with respect to persons’ type, their grade levels, and their living areas. Masculinity was matched with the successful mid-level sport managers more than that of femininity. In conclusion, there is a similarity between characteristics of masculinity and skills of mid-level management. Besides, it could be concluded that cadet sport managers still have gender-role stereotypes in some managerial skills, but these stereotypes could change at the end of the sport management education period.
