Abstract (2. Language): 
Objective: To evaluate cytomegalovirus seropositivity among women of reproductive age in Malatya is aimed. Material and methods: Cytomegalovirus IgM and IgG antibodies were evaluated respectively in 4042 patients who attended to the gynecology outpatient clinic of the Inonu University Hospital between February 1995 - February 1999 by micro ELISA method. 828 patients were pregnant. Results: Of the 4042 serum samples, 70 (1.7%) CMV IgM, 3259 (80,6%) CMV IgG, and 72 (1.8%) CMV IgM+IgG were positive. Of the pregnant women, CMV IgM (0.6%), CMV IgG (78%), and CMV IgM+IgG (10%) were positive. Conclusion: These results demostrated that the rate of infection risk for cytomegalovirus was 19% in women of reproductive age.

Amaç: Malatya'da doğurganlık yaş grubundaki kadınlarda sitomegalovirus (CMV) seropozitifliğinin değerlendirilmesi planlandı. Gereç ve Yöntem: 828'i hamile olan 4042 doğurganlık yaşındaki kadınların serumunda mikro ELISA (Organon) yöntemiyle sitomegalovirus'a özgü IgM ve IgG antikorlarının sonuçları retrospektif olarak değerlendirildi. Bulgular: 4042 örneğin 70'inde (%1.7) CMV IgM, 3259'unda (%80.6) CMV IgG, ve 72'sinde (%1.8) CMV IgM+IgG pozitif olarak bulundu. Hamilelerin %0.6'sı CMV IgM, %78'i CMV IgG, ve %10'ununda CMV IgM+IgG pozitifliği saptandı. Sonuç: Doğurganlık yaşındaki kadınların %19'unun CMV infeksiyon riski altında olduğu belirlendi.
