The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of bleaching with 10% carbamide peroxide on the marginale microleakage of amalgam and composite restoration. For this purpose Class V amalgam and composite restoration were used on the extracted teeth. The teeth were thermally stressed and were bleached with 10 % carbamide peroxide. Marginal leakage were evaluated by using dye penetration. There was no statistical differences between the restorations. Hence we concluded that bleaching with 10% carbamide peroxide was no effect on the microleakage of the old amalgam and composite restoration.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, amalgam ve kompuzit dolgulu dişlerde % 10 luk karbamidperoksit ile "night guard" vital beyazlatma uygulamasının, kenar sızıntısına etkisini incelemektir. Bu amaçla çekilmiş dişler üzerine yapılan 5. sınıf amalgam ve kompozit dolgular ısı siklusu yöntemi ile eskitildikten sonra dişler %10 luk karbamid peroksit ile beyazlatılmıştır. Dolgulardaki kenar sızıntısı, boya penetrasyonu yöntemi ile değerlendirilmiştir. Yapılan istatistik analizde anlamlı farklar elde edilememiş ve %10 luk karbamid peroksit ile yapılan beyazlatmanın dişler üzerindeki eski dolguların kenar sızıntısına etkisi olmadığı sonucuna varılmıştır.
