Denture fracture is one of the most frequent problem that cause financial and emotional consequences for dentist and patient. The present study was conducted to determine the types of fracture by questionnaires to one hundred and fifty patients who apply to Department of Removable Prosthodontics, Faculty of Dentistry, University of Istanbul with damaged denture. Results showed that the upper complete dentures were more prone to denture fracture. Fractured and cracked complete dentures had been in use frequently more than 3 years. Damages mostly occur in the mouth while chewing. The midline fractures were more commonly seen.

Protez kırıkları oldukça sık görülen, hasta ve hekim için hem maddi, hem de manevi sıkıntılar getiren sorunlardan biridir. Bu araştırma ile İstanbul Üniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi Total Parsiyel Protezler Bilim Dalı'na protez kırılması şikayeti ile başvuran toplam 150 hasta anket yöntemiyle incelenmiştir. Çalışmanın sonuçlarına gore en fazla kırığa maruz kalan protez tipi üst tam protezlerdir. Kırık ve çatlak protezler genellikle 3 yıldan uzun zamandır kullanılmaktadır. Kırık genellikle çiğneme sırasında ve orta hatta gerçekleşmektedir.
