Abstract (2. Language):
An examination of the understanding of religion in the works of Filibeli Ahmad Hilmi (1865¬1914} the leading represanlative of thinkers of the late period of Ottoman Empire, is presented in this article. In this period, Western movements, such as materialism, atheism and positivism were influencing minds of muslims in one way or another; for this reason Filibeli Ahmad Hilmi struggled against these movements.
This article consists of these headings: I) The Definition of Religion, 2) The Sense of Religion, 3) The Need to Religion, 4) The Consequences of the Anti-Religious Discourse, 5) The Classification of Religions, 6) The Relation of Religion with Science and Intellect.

Bu makale, Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nun son dönemlerinde yetişmiş olan Filibeli Ahmed Hilmi'nin din anlayışı hakkındadır. Onun yaşadığı dönemde, materyalizm, ateizm ve pozitivizm gibi çeşitli Batılı akımlar herhangi bir şekilde müslümanlan etkilemiştir. Filibeli Ahmed Hilmi de bu akımlara karşı mücadele veren düşünürlerden biridir.
Bu çalışma şu başlıklardan oluşmaktadır: 1) Dinin Tanımı, 2) Din Duygusu, 3) Dinin Lüzumu, 4) Dinsizliğin Sonuçlan, 5) Dinlerin Tasnifi, 6) Din, Bilim ve Akıl.
