Abstract (2. Language):
There is a general opinion in our country and in the world that the course of mathematics is difficult.
Many students mention that they do not like mathematics due to their perception of being
unsuccessful and the difficulty of mathematics since young ages. The purpose of this study is to
identify how mathematics teachers, especially experienced ones, behave to those students having a
negative attitude towards mathematics due to various reasons, which kind of methods and techniques
they use and whether they do specific activities for the students. 17 mathematics teachers having 10
years or more of experience in the teaching job participated in the study voluntarily. The results
showed that it is very difficult to take students' attention to the course of mathematics as they do not
like it. Teachers usually try to make students feel successful with the practices to be solved easily.
