Abstract (2. Language):
The Adaptation of the Relationship Beliefs Questionnaire: Validity and Reliability Studies. The purpose of this study is to adapt the Relationship Beliefs Questionnaire which was originally developed by Romans and DeBord (1995) to Turkish and investigate the validity and reliability of the scale. The data was collected from 742 (434 girls, 308 boys) university students at Mersin University. Confirmatory factor analysis was used to evaluate the construct validity of the scale. Results of the study indicated that the scale composed of 6 factors namely, “We should be completely open and honest with each other”, “We should be able to read each other’s minds”, “We should do everything together”, “We should be able to meet all of each other’s needs”, “We should be willing and able to change for each other” and “Romantic idealism”. The results also showed that interna consistency coefficients of the factors as estimated by Cronbach Alpha were highly satisfactory.
