n this study, it was aimed to present a model as a solving offer for the reasons of the communication problems among the patient, patient’s relatives and healthcare professionals at the hospitals. In accordance with this purpose, we had interviews with the personnel who are religious official, nurse and psychologist in the department which is to communicate with the patients and the patient’s relatives at Gaziantep University Research and Application Hospital. The data was analyzed within the scope of grounded theory. At the end of the study central notion is information, root of the communication problems is “wish to learn information”, the objective of the department is “edification” and analysis strategy is “information exchange”. Besides, among the communication problems of the department; changing the environment of the patient and patient’s relatives, determining the personal characteristics and effective communication skill were found as analysis strategies.

Bu çalışmada, hastanede hasta ve hasta yakınları ile sağlık personeli ilişkisinde ortaya çıkan iletişim problemlerinin sebeplerinin ortaya konması ve bu problemlere çözüm önerisi niteliği taşıyan bir model ortaya koymak amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda Gaziantep Üniversitesi Araştırma ve Uygulama Hastanesinde hasta ve hasta yakınlarıyla iletişimi sağlamak amacıyla oluşturulan biriminde görevli din görevlisi, hemşire ve psikologla görüşmeler yapılmış, elde edilen veriler temellendirilmiş kuram çerçevesinde analiz edilmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda çekirdek kavram olarak bilgi, iletişim problemlerinin kaynağında "bilgi öğrenme isteği", birimin amacında "bilgi verme" ve çözüm stratejisinde ise "bilgi alışverişi" olarak ortaya çıkmıştır. Ayrıca birimin iletişim problemlerinde çözüm stratejileri olarak hasta ve hasta yakınlarının bulunduğu ortamın değiştirilmesi, bireysel özelliklerinin tespit edilmesi ve etkili bir iletişim becerisinin yer aldığı belirlenmiştir.
