Abstract (2. Language):
There are some legal protections against violations of the rights of suspects in Turkey; however, there are not much legal protections in protecting the rights of victims. In this context, the article evaluates current status of victim rights and victim support in Turkey in comparison with some Western countries, and suggests that Turkey should bring in new legal arrangements and organisational structures such as setting up a victim support organisation in protecting victims and their rights in line with the EU legislations, practices and commendations.
