Abstract (2. Language):
The aim of this study is that hopelessness levels of students attending Sport Management Department Physical Education
and Sport High School are explored in aspect of different variables. Study is consist of 147 students attending first and fourth
class at Selcuk University Physical Education and Sport High School of Sport Management Department. In the study, BECK
Hopelessness Scale developed by A.T. Beck, D. Lester and L.Trexler was practiced. Availed results were analyzed statistically. In
analysing the data, T test was used in comparison the sex and class variations in aspect of hopelessness leves. Whether the
students’ hopelessness and hopelessness subscale points became different meaningfully or not according to their revenue
position was examined by single side variance analysis, meaningful results were tested with Tukey so that origin of becoming
different was determinated. The analysis of data was done by means of using SPSS 13.00 packet programme. The result of this
study has appeared hopelessness levels of the boy students are higher than the girl students, Nevertheless hopelessness levels of
the students who family’s little and middle revenue levels are higher than the family’ s high revenue levels. When examined of
according to class status, It was found that the hopelessness rates of 4 th grade students higher than 1st grade students.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Beden Eğitimi ve Spor Yüksekokulu Spor Yöneticiliği bölümünde okuyan öğrencilerin
çeşitli değişkenler açısından umutsuzluk düzeylerinin incelenmesidir. Çalışma, Selçuk Üniversitesi Beden Eğitimi ve
Spor Yüksekokulu Spor Yöneticiliği Bölümünde okuyan I. ve IV. sınıf toplam 147 öğrenciye uygulanmıştır.
Araştırmada A.T. Beck, D. Lester ve L. Trexler tarafından geliştirilen BECK Umutsuzluk Ölçeği (Hopelessness
Scale) uygulandı. Elde edilen sonuçlar istatistiksel olarak analiz edildi. Verilerin analizinde, cinsiyet ve sınıf
değişkenlerinin umutsuzluk düzeyleri açısından karşılaştırılmasında t testi kullanılmıştır. Gelir durumu değişkenine
göre öğrencilerin toplam umutsuzluk ve umutsuzluk alt ölçek puanlarının anlamlı düzeyde farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığı
ise tek yönlü varyans analizi ile sınanmış, anlamlı çıkan sonuçlar farklılaşmanın kaynağının belirlenmesi amacıyla
Tukey testi yapılmıştır. Verilerin analizi SPSS 13.00 paket programı kullanılarak yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda;
Erkek öğrencilerin umutsuzluk düzeyleri kız öğrencilere oranla daha yüksektir. Ailelerin gelir düzeyleri düşük ve orta
olan öğrencilerin umutsuzluk düzeyleri, gelir düzeyleri yüksek olanlara oranla daha yüksek olduğu ortaya çıkmaktadır.
Sınıf durumlarına göre incelendiğinde, 4.sınıf öğrencilerinin 1.sınıf öğrencilerine göre umutsuzluk oranlarının daha
yüksek olduğu bulunmuştur
