Firework cracker is a kind of toy which contains yellow phosphorus. Yellow phosphorus is a severe local and systemic toxin causing damage to gastrointestinal, hepatic, cardiovascular and renal systems. Here we report an infantile case who was brought to hospital for accidental consumption of firework cracker. Later she developed the symptoms of hepatic failure. The symptoms released in a week with conservative therapy and was discharged after 10 days.

Çatapat sarı fosfor içeren bir tür oyuncaktır. Sarı fosfor lokal ve sistemik etkili şiddetli bir toksin olup gastrointestinal, kardiovasküler ve renal sistemlerde hasara yol açar. Bu makalede kazara çatapat yeme sonucu hastaneye getirilen bir süt çocuğu olgusu sunulmuştur. İzleminde karaciğer yetmezliği semptomları gelişmiş, destek tedavi verilen olgudaki karaciğer yetmezliği düzelmiş ve onuncu günde taburcu edilmiştir.
