Ascites is not a common complication in chronic hemodialysis patients. If the causes like congestive cardiac failure, tricuspid insufficiency, liver failure, inadequate hemodialysis session is excluded, in our country's conditions, tuberculous peritonitis is an important probability that is to be considered. In that situation antituberculous treatment may be life saving.

Asit, kronik hemodializ hastalarında çok görülmeyen bir komplikasyondur. Konjestif kalp yetmezliği, trikuspid yetmezliği, karaciğer yetmezliği, yetersiz hemodializ gibi nedenler ekarte edildiğinde, ülkemiz, koşullarında tüberküloz, peritonit düşünülmesi gereken önemli bir olasılıktır. Bu durumda antitüberküloz tedavi hayat kurtarıcı olabilir.
